The premise

After a car crash ruins the hands of brilliant, arrogant New York neurosurgeon Stephen Strange, he searches for a cure. The search leads him to Kamar-Taj in Kathmandu, where the Ancient One reveals the astral plane and other dimensions. He begins training in the mystic arts just as a rogue former student, Kaecilius, tries to open Earth to a destructive power from another dimension.[1]
